What is your opinion on...Boba returning for s3 Mando?
Boba gets at least two episodes focused on him. The less they have to do with the plot, the better. I want 2+ hours of Boba and Fennec playing cards, Boba bonding with his rancor, Boba dragging Cobb to death for taking his armor, Boba honoring the Tusken tribe, Boba learning how to cook, Boba fixing his armor, Boba anything. Din can be the side character he's always wanted to be.

🔥 + those new star wars shows
Tumblr media
i feel like it's not an unpopular opinion that disney star wars is like, bad, and we're very over saturated with sw content rn. but let's go one by one for disney era sw shows, yeah?
rebels (2014-2018): okay i love rebels. nuthin to say here. it's not perfect but overall, a good fun time. good fun characters. love it.
forces of destiny (2017-2018): meh. the animation is meh, but i liked most of the padme ones, and i liked the ones where the girls from different franchises interact, like leia and sabine and jyn. i like the concept, but overall was underwhelmed. but for what it was it's fine.
resistance (2018-2020): i don't really have an opinion on resistance. i watched a few episodes when it first came out but it didn't really pull me in. so i'm neutral on it, but it's sequel era so auto hate i guess. but not really. it's fine.
galaxy of adventures (2018-2020): best animation in star wars. oh and it's narrated by dante basco? incredible. love it.
the mandalorian (2019-present): hate. i liked the first season cuz i liked baby yoda (he's cute!), and i liked pedro pascal becoming daddy™, but then season 2 was just bad. the best part was them getting temuera morrison back as boba fett, but we all know how that turned out. and season 3 was simply intolerable. even characters i used to sort of like i now hate with a firey passion. like bo katan?? hate her. why is she so young?? and here's the real unpopular opinion, i HATE baby yoda. like he's not even cute to me anymore i literally just hate him with the passion of a thousand firey suns. i think it's the combo of over saturation plus the absolute STUPIDNESS that was his "arc" in the book of boba fett, but kill that little green old man with fiiiiiire 🔥🔥🔥. i didn't even care about the order 66 stuff with him, it was just so stupid. the best part was my boy kelleran beq. but i do respect the hell out of pedro pascal for being like, the highest paid voice actor in hollywood. like he's barely in the suit anymore but literally get that bread 🤑🤑🤑
jedi temple challenge (2020): i cannot belieeeeeeeeeve that when i look up "star wars shows" wikipedia has every fucking show listed EXCEPT jedi temple challenge. THE AUDACITY. THE DISRESPECT. jedi temple challenge is a star wars game show based on game shows like "legends of the hidden temple" from back in the day, and it's an absolute delight. AND it brought ahmed best (jar jar binks) back into star wars. and he did such a good job and you can tell he had such a fun time doing it. kelleran beq my absolute BELOVED. y'all think you love him but none of you love him like i do. also SAM WITWER??! frank oz?? zakai "the dark side is a little bitch" you absolute fucking legend? incredible, no notes. i wish there were a thousand seasons.
the bad batch (2021-present): hate. #unwhitewashthebadbatch. also, it's boring. i just don't care.
visions (2021-present): best thing that's happened to star wars in 20 years. love forever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
the book of boba fett (2021-2022): HATE. IT'S JUST SOOOOOOOO BAD. HOW COULD THEY DO THIS TO MY BOY????? temuera morrison deserved sooooooooooo much better. and don't even TALK to me about what they've done to my son, luke jskywalker. fake luke skywalker. jake skywalker. terrible. hate hate hate.
obi wan kenobi (2022): my beloved. has done nothing wrong in their life, i know this and i love them. (except for what they've done to my boy the grand inquisitor. and fifth brother. but we don't talk about that.) genuinely so surprised that it was as good as it was, seeing the state of star wars live action before it. but i've never been so grateful that dave felony does not care about obi wan as a character, and therefore does not feel the need to rub his greedy little hands all over him. deborah chow did such a good job protecting the integrity of the characters imo. i would have been happier if it was just sad man alone in the desert, hallucinating anakin and house hunting with force ghost qui gon, but i've since gotten over that. i loved baby leia and the organas. also i don't think this is an unpopular opinion but KATHLEEN KENNEDY IS A LITTLE BITCH FOR CANCELLING S2 BUT GREENLIGHTING A REY MOVIE THAT NO ONE WANTS. ESPECIALLY when ewan/hayden/jimmy were all on board. she's number one on my hit list tbh. but if that was all we had it was enough. better to die a hero than live long enough to see yourself become a villain, and all that.
andor (2022-present): rogue one is the best thing that star wars has ever done imo, and andor is andor: a rogue one story, so it's great. but i fucking hate polldark cereal man. he's so fucking annoying. every time he is on screen i am throwing things at my tv. i don't even know his name, sibil, maybe? anyway, he's fucking stupid. taking away valuable screen time from my beloveds and for what? and he's just so boring. he's not even an interesting fascist like dedra (who i really only like because of the actress's incredible performance in "under the banner of heaven"). but anyway he's the worst. unpopular opinion is that mon mothma is sooo valid for selling her daughter to satan for one corn chip. go off queen.
tales of the jedi (2022-present): stupid. you can't even have continuity in your own canon? get it together dave, christ alive. i wanted to like it but, meh. i did like the rex, ahsoka, anakin one, because it's peak anakinnuttery and he's literally so insane i love it.
young jedi adventures (2023-present): adorable. you're killing it babies. high republic is fun. all the gold drip is fun. and the little riyo chuchi pantoran with the purple lightsaber is adorable. the eps are whatever, but it's literally made for 3 year olds, so it's great.
ahsoka (2023): it's so terrible i can't even speak. my expectations were low but man they wow'd me with how bad it was. first bitchy thing: ewan's new wife as hera was even more terrible than i was expecting. i can't think of a single thing i liked, except sabine a little, but that is for lesbian reasons and i cannot be held accountable for that. the rampant love for shin is soooooooo transparent. like i don't even dislike her, i like her just fine, but come on. and cgi hayden?? are you kidding me?? he looked SOOOOOOOO terrible are y'all for real?? i knew it was gonna be bad but damn. biggest takeaway was that whoever was in charge of the sound editing should be SHOT. it was so bad and sooooooo distracting. it took me right out.
huh. i guess overall i don't hate as many as i thought. but still, the ones i hate i really hate, and waaaaaaaaaaaaay too many. i'd sell them all to satan (except kenobi) for one corn chip.

do you have any hcs about how din will act when luke gets pregnant in either BT or just circumstances similar to BT? im obsessed with the idea of kept luke and doting din but luke is still trying to escape and yet has to reckon with getting rounder and being pregnant and constantly wanting his alpha around
I'm not going to spoil anything about BT but let's sweep aside all my future notes, outlines, and half-written bits and play in the space on its own. We can say everything up through Chapter 8 happened as-is.
tw somewhat dark content, mpreg, maybe some Stockholm Syndrome
At first Din is worried. Even once he starts making up real food, Luke can't seem to keep it down. Boba's convinced that he's faking to trick them into taking him to a medcenter, but that doesn't make sense. He's wanted by the Empire, it would be a stupid escape plan. Han has an idea of what could be wrong but keeps it to himself, afraid that if he speaks it out loud it will be true.
Thankfully, that passes quickly.
Because heats in this AU are 3-4 per year, waiting til one is skipped isn't a good indicator of pregnancy. What tips it over is one night Din takes the Force restraint collar off, just for a little bit. Luke treasures these moments, a few minutes where everything feels the way it should. He stretches his senses out, feeling the pulse of life on the moon around them.
Or rather, that's what he normally does. This time as soon as he can reach out he feels something new, something much closer than he expected. There's no mind, it's not a person yet, but it's grown enough that it's more than just a tiny thrum of possibility.
And because their mating bond lets Din feel everything Luke feels, they find out at precisely the same time.
Luke would be scared, but Din's excitement and joy is so loud in their bond and in the Force that it completely overwhelms him. It's not for a few days after that he has a clear enough head to think things through.
He once told Leia he wouldn't mind a family, maybe even wanted one. But he didn't think it would happen like this. Still...he can't be as horrified as he thinks he should be. He feels guilty about that, too.
Han's reaction is to throw out his "wait and see until Boba follows through on his debt promise" plan. There's now a time limit on getting Luke out, consequences for himself be damned. It doesn't go well, is all we'll say there.
If Din was overbearing before, now he's absolutely insufferable. Before they knew, Luke thought he was making some progress on getting his alpha to treat him more like a person. Maybe they could even salvage something out of this mess of a relationship (if it could be called one). Now it's the softest clothes, the most carefully-selected food, and Luke is almost completely forbidden from walking anywhere.
He has little victories. He convinces Din that being trapped inside all of the time is bad for the baby. He still can't get out at night, Boba and Din know their mates aren't stupid, they could figure out roughly where in the galaxy they are if they can see the stars. But there's a small lake near the house, and he gets to spend a lot of time on the shore there.
Since there are no other sentients on the moon, there are no other ships. Luke's escape plans stat and end with getting onto Slave I by himself (or, preferably with Han, but after Han refused him once he's not going to wait -- they'll come back for him). He tries to talk to Leia in the windows he has without the collar on, but he can never seem to reach her. He can feel her, she's not dead, but she has her shields drawn down tight as if hiding from something. Or someone. It keeps them from being able to speak in the Force.
Periods without the collar do get longer as Luke gets larger. Din is worried that their child, who is probably Force sensitive, will have their development stunted. Boba thinks it's not worth the risk, but after Din extracts promise after promise of good behavior from Luke until both alphas are relatively convinced. It comes off and it stays off.
Luke is so grateful that he knows that he's going to keep those promises. The part of him that yells about getting away gets smaller as he gets rounder, and can feel their child more and more clearly. He tells himself the urge to keep Din close is hormonal, instinctive. He knows he's lying.
For the entire pregnancy Din can't keep his hands off of Luke, especially not his belly. Once movement starts he's even worse. Boba snaps at him to stop trying to get him to feel every kick or turn, but never once does he refuse to actually do so.
Din spends a lot of time and credits fleshing the house out. This was always his plan, but now he needs to hurry up. It's a modular, prefabricated thing, so adding an additional room for a nursery is trivially easy. Luke, at least, gets to make some choices there. They go with a soft green, a color all from Tatooine adore.
It's one night, laying in a pile of warm bodies with so many sets of hands pressed up against him that a dam breaks and Luke starts crying. The tears perhaps should have been made of desperation, but they are happy, happy tears.

hi! I was wondering if u could tell me your opinion on book of boba fett? the only mention I ever see of it on tumblr is that it's bad but nobody ever says why. at least, I haven't seen any explanation or discussion abt it. would love some insight. feel free to ignore this also, no pressure. thanks for your time!
Hi there!
Admittedly, I haven't seen BOBF - I'm still working my way through TCW, which means it'll be a bit before I get to BOBF content. However, I am opposed to a post-ROTJ Boba Fett show in general, so I'll try to explain why, and what I've seen from friends, discord chats and tumblr, that make me apprehensive to watch it. I will watch it anyways! And my opinion on the show will probably change when I watch it - if you like it yourself, that's great! I have no doubt that it's a fun show, but there's elements of it that I don't like.
Namely, the idea that BOBF is "The Mandolorian season 2.5", which is a problem I have with Star Wars in general; the idea that it's becoming MCU 2. Not everything needs to be connected, and to have 2 episodes of you 7 episode show not include your titular character at all, besides a cameo? It's not what fans want, and it's not what they expect going in. A Boba Fett show should be about Boba Fett, cause, y'know, it's kind of in the title. Instead, they used it to promote Mando s3, rather than just. Make their own show.
Also - and this is definitely a personal gripe of mine - having the show take place after ROTJ is kind of a wasted opportunity. I get that Boba survives in Legends and Canon, and I don't mind that, but think of what we could've had if the show took place around the same time as the OT. Hearing allusions to those movies, but never directly interacting with the characters, save for key moments post ESB. Casting new actors to play old characters rather than using CGI deepfake. Explore the world of Star Wars during the OT, the stuff we don't really see. We already know what post-ROTJ Star Wars galaxy is like, thanks to Mandolorian. We don't really know what it was like during that time period.
There's also elements of the show that I've seen people say "don't feel like Star Wars" and I do think that's kind of a silly argument cause the Star Wars universe is massive and really, anything could happen. And that mentality can cause the writers and creators to just recycle old plots and shit bc they're afraid to take risks. Sometimes risks don't turn out well but that's okay. Trying something different is what matters.
Hope that answers your questions, anon! I'll probably have more opinions™ on it when I get around to watching it for real, but for now I'm still on s1 on TCW and simping for Obi-wan my beloved,
